USDA Issues Final Livestock Disaster Relief Payments

The payments address losses experienced in the 2023–2024 floods and wildfires.

Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins recently announced that the Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) has distributed more than $1.89 billion in final Emergency Livestock Relief Program (ELRP) payments to producers affected by drought, floods, and wildfires in 2023 and 2024. Eligible applicants for flood and wildfire assistance received 100 percent of their calculated payments in a single lump sum, while producers who previously received factored drought and wildfire payments received supplemental payments to increase their total assistance.

“Livestock operations across the country were disrupted in 2023 and 2024 by catastrophic floods, drought, wildfires, and poor forage conditions,“ said Secretary Rollins. “We are working every day to ensure America’s food supply remains safe, stable, and secure. Due to the program demand for drought and wildfire assistance, initial payments were factored to ensure total program payments did not exceed available funding. Additional funds remain so we are delivering on our Farmers First commitment to livestock producers.”

The funding is authorized under the American Relief Act of 2025.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for Secretary Rollins as she oversees the USDA appropriations authorized by Congress.
  • For USDA officials as they administer disaster relief program funding for eligible livestock producers.
  • For U.S. farmers and ranchers recovering from severe weather and other disaster losses.
